Campsite under the pine forest beside Jizi Reservoir
"We will depart from Pushi Coffee at 12 o'clock in the morning that day and take the highway to a high mountain lake near Lijiang. After getting off the Jiuhe Expressway exit, turn to the national highway and soon turn right up the mountain. Follow a mountain road full of pine forests to a large mountain farm with rape flowers and potatoes. When the weather is clear, you can see the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Lashi Lake Wetland not far away. Finally, after passing the last village, you will reach the lakeshore. The lake is surrounded by dense pine forests everywhere. We will paddle backpacks and paddle boards to our campsite, a pine forest on the cliff by the lakeshore, and set up a canopy under the pine trees. The tent is also under the pine tree. The small mushrooms you see before going to bed at night may be much bigger when you wake up the next morning. After dinner, you can take a walk in the pine forest and observe some very charming mosses growing under the pine trees. You can also row a backpack boat on the lake at night and watch the reflection of the woods on the lake under the sky. There will be a layer of white fog before the sun rises the next morning, which is also very charming. After breakfast, you can row a boat or walk around in the woods by yourself. The feeling is different from the woods in the evening. Before noon, we will break camp, load the camping equipment on the boat, return to the parking place and set off back to Dali.
At the end of August, when Lao Li and I were camping together in Huoshan, Lao Li chatted and said that not long ago, he found a plateau reservoir in Yulong County where there were few people and a quiet place to camp. It was under the pine trees. Outside the woods was an uninhabited green lake. All he needed to do was put the camping equipment on the backpack boat and paddle board, pull it to the deeper shore of the reservoir, carry the equipment on his back, follow the path into the woods, and then start camping. Lao Li also said that the small mushroom seedlings found outside the tent at night would grow a lot bigger after he left the tent the next morning.
Two days later, when the weather started to improve, we went to Jizi Reservoir with Lao Li. The scenery became charming as soon as we got off the highway. At first, the car drove along the national highway in the valley. There were open farmlands on both sides of the road. There were some local Naxi houses in the farmlands, which were usually surrounded by pine trees. It felt different from the houses near Dali Basin, which were more open. Soon after, the car turned onto a small road and climbed over a hillside full of pine forests (local people could be seen everywhere on the road parking their cars on the side of the road to pick mushrooms in the forest). We arrived at a more open alpine farm full of potatoes and rapeseed flowers. Behind the clouds at the end of the picture in the distance was a towering mountain range that seemed to be Yulong Snow Mountain. The rest was just as described in the quotation marks at the beginning of the article.
We will pass through the Naxi village by the lake and arrive at the Jizi Reservoir. Then we will take our equipment and row to the camp. We will set up the tent before dark and have dinner together under the canopy by the lake. At night, we will enjoy the green reservoir and the moonlight in the valley together.

A: No need to pack. We will provide all the camping equipment, including tents, sleeping bags, sleeping mats, dinner, supper, fruits, coffee and tea.
Q: What do I need to prepare?
A: Change of clothes and toiletries. It's cold at night, so you need a thick coat. Nothing else.
Q: Where is the campsite? Is it far away?
A: In Yulong County, about three hours' drive from the ancient city, take the expressway down to National Highway 214. After crossing the mountain, you will reach the alpine farm and then the plateau reservoir in the forest.
