A Day with the Lamb | Lunch, Baseball and Her Bar

Two years ago, Xiaoyang came to Dali and stayed there because he met Lao Li in Hainan. In the past year or so, we often went on outdoor trips together. When this straightforward girl from the northwest talked to me about our travel activities, she also said that she could share her life as a travel experience. Yes, if you love your daily life somewhere, for another person, if you cook together like friends, go to a beautiful grassland to play baseball, and go to a bar together at night, it will be a trip to the local area.

This activity is held every Saturday because Saturday is baseball day for my friends and me.

Cook and eat together

This is my second year in Dali. After coming to Dali, I cook for myself during the day. As a person from the northwest, I am tired of Yunnan Bai cuisine and rice noodles, so I finally choose to cook for myself. After dinner, I will play with cats and dogs leisurely, and then go to work in the store at night. There are no worries in Dali. The worries seem to have disappeared. I feel comfortable all day long. There are many ideas in my head. I am not anxious, and I don’t feel bored.

Go play baseball on the grass

I went to college in Wuxi and later worked. In my spare time, I would often play baseball with my friends. When I first came into contact with this sport, I actually played wiffle ball with my former college classmates .

Compared to real baseball, this sport is simpler and easier to play. It has similar rules to baseball, but without any danger. After learning some baseball rules and knowledge, I wanted to learn this sport, which is relatively unpopular in China compared to other ball sports. I found a club online and explained my intention. I joined the first organization, the Spartan Baseball Team, and opened the door to a new world of playing baseball.

I like this sport. It is not only a physical sport, but also requires thinking with the brain. The cooperation and tacit understanding between teammates are very high. Baseball is not a one-person sport, but the result of teamwork. Whenever I score against my opponent, I will be very excited and I enjoy this feeling.

After moving from Wuxi to Dali, there were too few baseball teams. Fortunately, I found a new organization at the end of last year and started my baseball journey again.

At night, go to the bar to make drinks together

When I was in college, I worked part-time as a bartender for a year and a half. At that time, the first lesson in learning bartending was to wash glasses.

I washed cups for seven months, memorizing knowledge about drinks and taking exams from my boss. Eventually I learned a lot.

In the third month after arriving in Dali, I opened my first store, Shuangyan Bar, at lightning speed. From site selection to decoration and then to purchasing materials, it only took me two months to open the store.

Every time I think of a new wine, from the ingredients to the cooking method to which cup to use, how to mix it to make it taste better, and what decorations to use to match it, it's like completing a work. With good ideas, good works will follow, and I will continue to try and innovate. When I finally think of a name and hand it to the customer, it's like going back to the time when I was a student and my test results came out, nervous and expectant. If the customer nods and indicates that it tastes good, then it's a satisfactory answer.

This is my day, I get up in the morning, eat, go to baseball practice in the afternoon, and go to the store to make wine after dinner.
