Where do we come from?

We are not a company , we are friends from the community , gradually coming together but working independently.

In 2019, I launched "Hiking Experience + Home-cooked Dinner" on Airbnb. Tourists who have been to Dali liked it very much and recommended it to their friends. Later, some friends in the community joined the team and brought different local experiences. In 2022, after Airbnb stopped its business in China, we created our own Chinese WeChat applet for local travelers. Now we have created this multilingual website, hoping to meet more travelers from different countries and have meaningful trips in Dali.

What are we doing?

In April 2023, I traveled to Iran. I was lucky enough to experience life in the country more deeply, thanks to the local friends I made there. Through this experience, I realized that when people travel to another country, it makes a big difference if you have 「friends」 there, even if it's the first time you meet them. Therefore, I decided to focus on two things from a traveler's perspective to make your trip more meaningful.

1️⃣ Make in-depth travel easier , provide outdoor experiences, and take you to places that are hard to reach: mountain roads, streams, lakes, villages, farms, and local cuisine. We want your trip to be both enriching and relaxing. There is no group size requirement ; most trips can be completed with just one customer because we serve independent travelers.

And since most tourists from other countries to China will face huge language barriers, we not only provide 「language services」 , but also assist you in arranging local transportation. For example: help you 「arrange a taxi」 to pick you up from your hotel to the meeting point and back.

2️⃣Provide rich self-guided tour information .

Aside from cost considerations, we also like to explore independently on our trips, without a guide, because it allows for freedom. We'll share a wealth of information for you to explore on your own. This includes details about natural outdoor attractions, temples, ancient villages, hot springs, cafes, restaurants, and other local business experiences we recommend. You'll find seasonal weather advice, what to wear, tips for getting to Dali, local transportation, accommodation, and dining. We'll update this regularly. By referring to this information ahead of time, you can plan your trip and make the most of your time here.

FAQ

1 How to book an activity?

2. How are the fees charged? What is the difference between adults and children?

  • The price indicated is per person, the same price for adults and children
  • Regarding whether "same price for adults and children" is fair, our starting point is: the same price for children is that in outdoor activities, children generally need more care; the same price for adults is that we welcome parents who are interested in nature to participate, so that it can really be infectious to children. If you don't like it yourself, but just have to accompany, we recommend participating in the "independent camp" of other institutions (recommendations are in the guide). We found that reluctantly accompanying can easily become a negative factor in a shared trip, such as not understanding the need to stop and observe plants, and easily expressing opinions that are contrary to the travel intention of enjoying nature. Therefore, we have no intention of charging a lower price as an attraction just because the guests are not interested, which will affect other guests.

3. How to gather? Is there any pick-up?

  • Go directly to the meeting point. After booking, the guide will send you the exact location of the meeting place.
  • There is no pick-up (except for independent groups). Guests usually live in a large area, and picking them up separately will greatly waste each other's time. Some activities that come back at night will be sent to the inn (only included near the ancient city)
