Honghong was the earliest guide for the Cang Mountain hiking family, and in her spare time from leading hikes, she also made various forms of cold dishes in Dali. Here is herCold dish service introduction, and how she startedThe strange coincidence of making cold dishes.

She is very interested in organic vegetables from farms; she simply loves them and is passionate about it, which I think is so important. She enjoys the process. She finds cooking at home to be a lot of fun and loves food.

We used to lead hikes through the ancient city of Nanzhao, and after returning home with guests, we would cook together. I always prepared the same few dishes, but she always tried making different ones. I asked her, 'The guests are different each time, so why do you keep changing and experimenting?' Honghong replied, 'I love eating, and one person can't make too much. When there are guests, it’s a good chance to try out several dishes.'

Honghong has always wanted to practice this kind of Farm-to-Table experience, and now is the perfect opportunity. She is a person full of enthusiasm for life, friendly, eager to learn, and you can also talk with her about life in Dali, CrossFit training, swimming (she alsoTeaches swimming), and traveling. I believe both sides will gain something from the exchange.

Her home is also part of her livelihood, which can be instantly transformed into Honghong's Airbnb Homestay, When you go to her house for dinner, it's at the foot of Cang Mountain. You can see a vast expanse of Erhai Lake from the rooftop terrace. Inside the house are various pieces of furniture and items she has collected over time, giving it a strong sense of life.

Once you get to know her, you’ll understand what this experience of picking and cooking together will be like. Welcome to Honghong’s world~

Honghong:

Visited a friend’s farm in Dali that they’ve been running for years, picked some seasonal vegetables: blanched freshly picked pea shoots in cabbage and meatball soup, made a braised rice dish with broad beans and ham—simple yet allowing the natural flavors of the ingredients to shine. It suddenly struck me that such a simple wish of going from the land to the table is actually not easy to achieve these days. Coincidentally, I also enjoy making some homely dishes to invite friends over, which inspired the idea of creating this experience.

In the afternoon, pick vegetables grown using natural farming methods without pesticides at a friend’s farm. Between harvesting, enjoy some refreshments while overlooking the nearby fields with Cang Mountain in the distance. On our way back, we'll pass by the local Guanyin Tang vegetable market to buy some fresh ingredients. Then, we’ll prepare dinner together at home. After dinner, if you’d like, we can have tea and chat.

The fee includes farm refreshments, 1 jin (500g) of farm vegetables per person, additional fresh ingredients purchased at the market, a casual home-cooked dinner, as well as tea, coffee, snacks, and fruit.
