Yunnan, where we have lived for many years, has a long tradition of indigo dyeing. Surrounded by Bai ethnic traditions such as "tie-dye" (indigo dyeing technique), we are not satisfied with staying in Dali. We have traveled to countries and regions with rich plant dyeing culture, such as Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, and Guizhou, to learn various techniques and plant dyeing traditions. From this, we have refined and developed our plant dyeing system course.

The dyeing techniques we share are very different from what you learn in college or in an ivory tower. This is because we have traveled all over the countryside for many years, collecting pure blue mud from mountain people and wild dyes from the fields. These techniques are practical skills, learned in real life, based on survival and practicality. Tradition is the inheritance of life, not a repetition of the past. So we keep collecting, summarizing, practicing, innovating... and keep moving forward to create, hoping to share these simple but charming dyeing techniques with you.

During the course, we will collect flowers, leaves, fruits, and roots from nature, or use everyday objects as tools to assist in the indigo dyeing process, and combine tie-dyeing, batik, stencil dyeing and other techniques to create various patterns and textures on the fabric. The collision of different materials gives the fabric a unique and charming texture, just like a traveler constantly crossing unknown borders and encountering magical scenery. The beauty is hidden in the fabric, just like ginseng, cinnamon, and vanilla blending their essence into food.

Take your time, because time is magic, it makes the craft become exquisite and makes your hands become blue.
