As I mentioned when introducing the making of Pu'er tea cakes: just reaching the tea garden is a pleasant journey in itself. The tea house is a group of buildings by the stream, with a spacious green lawn courtyard and views of the Cangshan Mountains. It is a perfect choice for those who love nature and tranquility, whether alone or with family. It is a peaceful experience whether participating in tea picking and tea making or just taking a walk and relaxing here at any time of the day. The tea garden of the tea house is on the nearby hillside, which can be reached by walking for about ten minutes. From there, you can see Erhai Lake.
You can even spend a morning participating in activities at the tea garden, enjoy lunch at Taoxi Renjia Farmhouse nearby (remember to make a reservation in advance, contact Mingzi WeChat: qaz3333), drink tea in the tea garden, and spend a quiet and natural afternoon. The whole day will be a wonderful day.
After appreciating the beauty of Dali, if you still want to embrace nature at a deeper level, you might as well come to Cangshan Tea Garden to experience tea picking and making activities.
Mocui Tea Garden is located in Taoxi Valley area of Cangshan Mountain. It has an ecological tea garden of about 100 acres and the trees are about 70 years old.
It is located at an altitude of about 2,200 meters, with snow water from Cangshan Mountain flowing all year round. It has a unique growing environment and does not use pesticides or chemical fertilizers. It is a green, pollution-free, pure ecological tea.
From here you can overlook the entire Dali Ancient City and Erhai Lake. In spring, various flowers are in full bloom, such as peach blossoms, pear blossoms, cherry blossoms, hawthorns, etc., which are beautiful beyond words. In summer, the streams are gurgling. Picking tea in such a beautiful scenery, feeling the mountain breeze, drinking mountain spring water, and tasting the Cangshan tea brewed by yourself, life should be so comfortable.
Tea Making Process
From early April to the end of October every year, there are tea picking and tea making activities here.
Duration: Picking takes about 1 hour, and production takes about 1 hour.
The activity includes picking, making, tasting and taking away the finished products. The tea making ratio is 5:1, that is, 1 jin of fresh leaves can produce 2 liang (about 60 grams) of finished green tea.
1. Picking: According to the standard of one bud and one leaf, the young buds contain more amino acids and have a fresher taste.
2 Dry: Spread the fresh leaves in a dustpan and place them in a cool place to dry.
3. Stir-fry: Use a high-temperature pan to stir-fry quickly to inactivate the oxidase and preserve the fresh green color.
4. Rub: Rub the roasted tea leaves into strips with your hands.
drying: Put the rolled tea leaves into a pot and dry them until they are completely dry.
taste: Enjoy the tea you brewed yourself.
Tea is a spiritual plant. Although the process of brewing tea is the same, the taste of the tea brewed by each customer is different. In addition to the different methods of brewing tea, each person invests different emotions, and the attitude towards tea will also affect the taste of the tea.
Make some tea yourself, leave your care and the flavor of the mountains in the tea, and share it with the one you love!
