"I'm Xiao Jing, and our favorite place is the forest. The mountains have different treasures throughout the year: mushrooms in the rainy season, pine cones, pine nuts, and ferns in autumn and winter. Each season has its own flowers and plants. The girls in our picking group always go up the mountain and can find new things no matter what season it is. Join our mountain adventure!"
This route is suitable for children aged 3-5 years old
Hiking distance: 2 km in total, with an ascent of about 100 meters.
If you like wilderness and no tourists, you are welcome to join our picking group of girls to go treasure hunting in the mountains.
As the seasons change, you’ll see different plants and fruits along the way.
Departure time : afternoon, the journey takes about 2 hours. The route is simple, the whole journey is 3 kilometers. Children over 3 years old with good physical strength can complete the journey.
Important reminder : The "Mini Pine Cone and Mushroom Picking" route has been changed to a simple route and no longer passes through Jizhao Temple.
If you enjoy walking through the forest and searching for seasonal treasures, this is the place for you.
- Fall and Winter : Collect pine nuts and pine cones.
- Spring : Pick raspberries, wild blackberries, ferns and tea.
- Summer : Collect wild mushrooms (since we set out in the afternoon, there won’t be many mushrooms, but the point is the experience).
Xiaojing : I have spent more than half of my time in Cangshan Mountain over the past three years. The mountain smells pleasant and the plants change over time. I am often surprised by newly blooming wild flowers that were hidden by leaves just a few days ago.
After experiencing these changes, I feel closer to Cangshan Mountain, and sometimes even feel like I have become a part of Cangshan Mountain.
Pine cones can be picked year-round. I didn’t realize until I took this route that there are many different types of pine cones. The smaller pine cones can be picked with just a short walk, but the pine nuts we pick from the Huashan pine trees are found at higher altitudes. So, we need to climb to a higher altitude to pick them, which also requires us to go into more densely forested areas, away from the hustle and bustle of tourist attractions.
In spring, the first thing you see on Pine Cone Road is the blooming azaleas. The first to bloom are the pink rhododendrons, followed by purple, red and white flowers every few days.
