I'm Xiaojing. My favorite place in Dali is the forest. There are different treasures in the mountains all year round. There are mushrooms in the rainy season; there are pine cones, pine nuts and ferns in autumn and winter. There are different flowers and plants in each season. The girls in our picking group always go up the mountain, and no matter what season it is, we can always find new things. You are welcome to join our mountain adventure!
Take a look at the video of this experience and you’ll understand the beauty of nature:
Near the village where I live, there is a field outside the village. The villagers are hardworking and grow all kinds of vegetables all year round. The fields are neat, the roads are clear and solid, and short weeds grow on both sides.
We walked across the fields and up the slope and soon reached a mountain temple. The locals were so devout that every village at the foot of the mountain, on the way up, had a temple.
Along the way, wildflowers bloom in different seasons. Even now, in winter, you can find yellow primroses. Spring and summer are full of various flowers and plants. We picked small flowers and ferns we encountered along the way. They are The materials we use for natural dyeing. In Dali, if you often go up the mountain, you can easily pick some flowers and put them in a terracotta vase at home to bring life to your space.
After passing the mountain temple, walking along the mountainside, you can see the village, Erhai Lake, and the small woods. This section of the road is my favorite leisurely walking section. The village with such a mountain road is really charming.
After walking this mountain road, you will reach the stream. The stream is gurgling, and reeds are swaying in the valley, which is quiet and deep.
We rested by the stream, sipping afternoon tea while listening to the gurgling water and preparing for natural dyeing. Even sitting here or walking by the stream is a pleasure.
We usually leave at around 3:30pm and return at 6:00pm. The hike is easy, about 2km, with a gentle slope, and does not require particularly strong physical strength. Children aged 3 and above can participate.
