----------------------------------------

Located 5 kilometers from the ancient city, Wuwei Temple is a quiet temple (compared to Jizhao Temple). This was a royal temple during the Dali Kingdom period, where many emperors became monks. It is also said to be the prototype of the Tianlong Temple in Jin Yong's novel " The Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils". The end point of our "Kuosongping Light Hike | Fields, Streams, and Forests" is near here.

You need to take a taxi to the parking lot below (landmark on the map: Chenjiabao), and then walk up the mountain road slowly (20 minutes). This is the best way to visit Wuwei Temple. If you go directly to Wuwei Temple, it is possible, but it will greatly reduce the fun.

From the parking lot at the bottom of the mountain, go up along the steps, and you will see a small valley with roads on both sides of the stream. You can bring your children to play in the water here in summer, it is very safe. Going up, there are ponds and majestic mountain gates, which you can't see if you go directly to Wuwei Temple.

It would be an interesting little hike through the forest and stream.

At the end are two thousand-year-old Tang pines and the quaint Wuwei Temple, which is also a place that locals like to visit.

While taking a walk here, you can also visit Li Zhenhao's Shanxia Nature Studio | Cafe nearby. She has many plant specimens collected from her travels around Yunnan, and it is also a cafe open to visitors.

There is another place to visit nearby: Cangshan Natural Image Museum
