November to January Climate & Clothing Suggestions:

Starting from November, the rainy season ends and the windy season begins. Dali's windy season is a relatively long special season (November to April of the following year). Sometimes the wind is so strong that people can't stand steadily, overturning some fragile sheds, and blowing motorcycles sideways.

The temperature is 3-22 degrees, cool in the morning and evening. It basically stops raining and the weather is mostly sunny, but the wind is often strong, especially at night. The mushroom season is over, and a large number of migratory birds from Siberia begin to arrive gradually. It is a good season for bird watching and star watching by boat . Winter cherry blossoms also bloom in December.

Dressing Tips:

In terms of clothing, it is hot on sunny days, so short-sleeved T-shirts are fine, but you also need to bring a coat, as it will be cold if you can't get out of the sun. The temperature difference between day and night is large, so you need to bring a thin down/thick coat and a fleece jacket before going out. You need to cover yourself with a thicker quilt when sleeping. Remember to bring a coat when you go out during the day to prevent catching a cold when you return home late.

Altitude: Dali is 2,000 meters above sea level, which is still some distance from the altitude where altitude sickness may occur (2,400 meters). Most people may only experience altitude sickness above 3,000 meters. So the altitude of Dali is basically not a problem. Some people may feel uncomfortable, but they are exceptions.

Fire prevention period: The fire prevention period usually begins on December 1st. You can go up most mountain roads after registering.

If you are hiking , bring sports shoes/hiking shoes , which can be used for daily use and hiking . Dali has hot springs, and autumn and winter are good seasons, so bring a swimsuit.
