Pick wild vegetables and make tempura
During the years I have lived in Dali, "picking wild vegetables" seems to have become a kind of ritual to welcome spring.
If you also like to pick wild vegetables, you are welcome to go up the mountain with us.
We will gather at the village at the foot of Cangshan Mountain, pass the quaint mountain temple under the cherry trees, and start looking for wild vegetables on the ridge road. Compared with the farmland beside Dali Road, the farmland here is more wild, perhaps because it is closer and more hidden from Cangshan Mountain. The path leading to the mountain is accompanied by the sound of gentle flowing water, which comes from the stone ditch covered by wild flowers. The water in the stone ditch comes from Cangshan Mountain. Even if you don't have any purpose, it is pleasant to take a walk here casually.
Each wild vegetable has its own characteristics. For example, the gray-gray vegetable is photosensitive, the red stems are inedible, and the wild peas are inedible after they bloom. In addition to collecting, we will introduce you to wild vegetables along the way.
In addition, wild vegetables are limited to spring, and the wild vegetables that grow every few days will be different. For example, the shepherd's purse in this field is still tender these days, but it will bloom and become old in a few days. When the shepherd's purse here becomes old, the gray-gray vegetable in the field next door is just in season. For example, we cannot guarantee the variety of wild vegetables you taste.
About the three ways to eat wild vegetables: fried wild vegetable tempura, wild vegetable salad (or fried eggs), wild vegetable noodle soup. We are not professional chefs, and we don’t know how to make complicated food. But we chose the three ways to eat wild vegetables because the simple cooking method can better taste the original flavor of wild vegetables. If you are a good cook, you are also welcome to cook by yourself.
