For children who grow up in the city, visiting a market is an unprecedented experience. Everything at the market is so fresh and interesting!
Lini took us through the rice fields in the village, chatting along the way, which was very enjoyable! She also took us to a super delicious halal beef restaurant, the beef and ribs were absolutely amazing!
From selecting materials to shaping, gluing, laying moss, and brushing with wood wax oil, it took nearly 3 hours to complete. Under the guidance of the young lady, I was able to finish it independently. It is very attractive for children who enjoy crafts, as it combines hands-on activity with knowledge accumulation.
The most enjoyable trip during my few days in Dali was when our two guides, Xiao Li and DD, took us to taste delicious乳扇 and乳扇 ice cream, and thoughtfully prepared tea, snacks, and fruit. Also, DD's adorable little dog, Yuanbao, was very well-behaved and fearless of water, accompanying us.
The paddleboarding instruction from the two guides was very detailed and patient. They avoided tourist areas throughout and took many photos of us. The experience was fantastic! I look forward to coming back again!
One of the best experiences in Yunnan was hiking up the mountain with the really good guide and the super well-behaved, slightly hairy little kid to observe and pick mushrooms. Along the way, the guide introduced various plants and fungi, and when tired, we rested on the spot. There were also fruit, tea, snacks, and moments of tranquility in the forest, with the adorable hairy little one by our side, which was very healing! Coming down the mountain, we went to A Jie’s house to enjoy authentic fire-cooked mushroom rice and picked mushrooms ourselves. I was worried the kids wouldn’t like mushrooms, but they ate them very happily—such a great experience!

Forest trail mushroom picking and pinecone gathering | Vegetarian meal at Jizhao An after hiking It's so nice to explore the various vegetation of Cangshan with Zha Mao, the fungi are hidden everywhere along the forest trails, in various colors and umbrella caps. True also gave us a lot of scientific names. Moss climbs on old trees, ferns curl with tender buds, and when you touch them with your fingertips, you can feel the pulse of Cangshan in your palm.
When we arrived at Jizhao An, the sun was just slanting over the eaves. On the wooden table, there was a bowl of vegetarian dish, the tofu was soft and tender, the pumpkin steamed with honey. In the time it takes to eat a bowl of vegetarian rice, the green mountain scenery was all tucked into our stomachs.
As we descended the mountain, the wind brushed past our ears, Zha Mao happily ran beside our legs. Some encounters don't need to be named, some flavors don't need to be spoken. Cangshan has long written the answers on every leaf.
